okay i used a pulse injector tester and i got nothing. i have power to the fuel pump relay on some of the legs, but the fuel pump doesnt come on. i can jump it at the relay from one leg to another and get the pump to work, but im at the conclusion that the ECU that i bought may be bad. go figure i bought it off ebay. im in hope that maybe a ground is loose or something so if you have any insight please help.

I just installed a new harness and a used ecu (A9L)

my car is a 91 302 Gt HO 5 spd.

the reason i replaced all of that is because some punk stole my computer and hacked my harnesses to pieces.

I replaced the harness and fixed the dash harness with a new pigtail. ive checked just about every fuseable link i could find and i replaced both the fuel pump relay under the seat and the ECC relay. i even tride jumping the fuel pump through the test connector under the hood but that also tested with no results. i have power from the coil and out of the dist.

if you need any information to help me dont hesitate to ask. thank you all!

Actually the Fuel pump is brand new. i changed the inline filter and the sock filter on the pump. and if i jump the relay it cuts on so there is no possible way its bad.

Then it's got to be a bad ground or a bad wires on the fuel injection harness or on the main harness or just a bad ecu. But keep checking and keep me posted.

You need to go through and see which systems are and are not functioning, and what element is missing in each.
The Cranks but No Start Checklist will help a lot.

You actually have spark?

Testing the fuel pump relay with the EEC test port grounded. Report the results.

Check for constant 12V to the injectors with the key on.

I have a constant 12v with the key on to the injectors just no pulse when i turn the motor. i tried jumping the test connector, but no results. there is also no power going to the inertia switch on either side. i called a buddy of mine and he said the problem may lie in the distributor itself, but i have no clue on how to test it. i have power for the dist. to the plugs. thats as far as i know how to test.

Also check for 5v at the TPS orange wire to a ground. If the 5v is present, then the ECM is powering up as it should.

Do as Hissin said, got to the relay, have the fuel pump trigger wire on the test port grounded, and see what wires have voltage on the fuel pump relay.

Pulse to the coil? i can take the wire off the coil that leads to the distributor and i can hold the test light or a screw driver near and it arches pretty strong. if thats the pulse your talking about? and if it was the distributor pickup would that alter the fuel system? i figured it would steal atleast prime right?

Alright i jumped the fuel pump from the test connector and it turns on.

I have power to Two out of four wires for the relay before i jumped it with key on.

Red- Power
pink/Grey stripe- Power
Green/light green stripe- No power
blue with orange stripe- no power

I again plugged up to one of the injectors and turned it over with no results.

alright i even went as far as testing some of the wires out of the dist. only two had power

peach/yellow power
red/green power
Gry/Orange nothing
red/blue nothing
tan- Nothing
peach/red- Nothing

The intertia switch has no power on either side.

And i know for an absolute fact the grounds are proper, but i even went as far as double checking them.

NOW! what sensor do you need me to test, and if you will please disclose the location of the sensor and how to test it
