Hi I'm new to the thread. The car in question isn't mine but my brother's 1990 LX 5.0 5spd... He knows nothing about cars except that he likes mustangs. It had been broken down for some time after he purchased it and after he had a free Boss cd player that couldn't play cd's and a free 10" sub on free 150Watt amp.

As a result the car had the truck broken in an attempt but that found some way into the cabin pulled the player and tore into the trunk through the seats.

The car is full of third rate wiring for the stereo and what apears to be an alarm that no one knows about or has remotes to. It also look as some cover is missing in the driver footwell and there are lots of wires hanging but all apear connected

After replacing the starter and cleaning the car up some for my brother I've realize that the only gauge that works is the speedometer. The battery and turn indicators work, the check engine light comes on VERY dim VERY slowly if I try to test the EEC running the car but all other don't. I've disconnected the cluster and all appearsto be ok and all connections were nice and firm.

with the car off it gives code 67 with the AC off clutch released and in nuetral

then it give 11

the car won't test on

after it warms up it stumbles alot but this has gotten alittle better since I put 93 w/techron

so basicaly I don't know if any of this is connected and any help would be so appreciated. His dad wants to junk and I don't have any money to buy another car, I just don't wanna see it crushed.

it gives off good vibes

It give the car a good tune up before I ruled out its operating condition.

Plugs, wires, clean the maf, IAC (definitely), make sure the air filter is clean and etc.

The radio wires should not really mess with the running condition of the car unless somehow a power was left intact connect to the battery and it shorting out somewhere else in the car. Just remove all the remaining wires from the stereo cuz it sounds as if all that needs redone anyways. Gauge cluster could be going bad but they can be had for fairly cheap on eBay.

There are other people on this forum that will be able to identify those codes for you and give more specific advise. Good Luck, and dont junk the car cux who knows..someone might be able to use it. Heck, I might even want it....

No codes with the engine running is due to the 67 code. The neutral safety switch on top of the trans is either disconnected or not working.
