Please help me out guys. Hedman and Hooker list their headers as only for clearing the C4 transmission. Someone fill me in if there is a set of headers I can get to clear my FMX. I was just about to order it too. 1 5/8 was my preference, but it looks like I won't be able to fit long tubes. Frankly I've never heard of shorties for the 351c.

ANYONE KNOW?

I feel your pain. I have a 351 w with an fmx and had the same problem. I just found the right ones and ordered them today. I just called hedman and asked them if they have anything that clears the fmx with a 351w they looked it up for me. I wanted hedman elites which are ceramic coated longtubes. It was part #88668 but i don't think it will fit a cleveland. Call them up at (565)-921-0404. Sorry no 800 number they are in california. Hope this helps.

Doug's Headers (Doug Thorley) in California makes them for the Cleveland, it doesn't specify if they're for the c4, c6, or FMX.

What year

What year car are you doing? I ran Hooker Competitions with my FMX and I had no problems. They even fit with the new AOD in it.

2V or 4V heads? I am running 2V.

Please tell me it's true.

I'm running a 1970. It clearly says only for C4 transmission. I really need these headers, I'm not flowing well at high RPM's at all. I'm gonna go with 1 5/8 Tubes to 3 inch collectors and then 2 1/4 inch pipes back to a 2 chamber flowmaster. So long as the headers are under 150 or so, I'm gonna go with an H-Pipe, unless I can find an X pipe.

Hooker 6913 is what I am running. I had an FMX. I had no problems.

Looking at Hooker's website, I dont see ANY notes that say only certain transmissions. I see notes 4 and 33. 4 says "fabricate full system blah blah blah." 33 says "for use with 2V heads only."

Those are the headers you want. They have 1-3/4 primaries.

EDIT: I should mention that I have a 1970 fastback with 351C-2V engine and originally an FMX.

The C6 and FMX are almost identical in size. I'd be very surprised if a header that works with a C6 won't work with the FMX.
