no headlights

I have got a problom with my 89 GT my headlights quit working and so far I have found the plug that goes into the main headlight switch was burnt an cracked then i found one of the plugs that goes into the dimmer switch on the column was the same way so so far i bought a new headlight switch and rewired it and still no headlights has anybody else ever had this problom and what can i do to remedy this problom

Are the parking lights working, and yeah check the fuse. Use a test light to find out if any power is coming to the switch.

my headlights stopped working, but only the highbeams would come on ONLY if i held the highbeam switch by hand. found out my multifunction switch was fried. i got a new one and have been set ever since. multifunction switch = thing to turn on the windshield wipers, blinkers, highbeams, etc...

ive checked the fuse and the only way my headlights come on is to hold back on the dimmer switch so maybe it is the multifunction switch
