no hood latch?

I have heard this as well that is why I am concerned.
The builder seems to think that it will be okay.
I called the hood manufacturer and they will not comment as to whether or not a latch is required.
So how can I convince the builder (and myself) that locking hood pins alone are not adequate?
Anyone have any proof (tech articles,manufacurer info etc.) that I can show the builder?

Think of it this way: go the extra mile now and make sure whatever ends up holding the hood down cannot fail and you dont have to worry about it again. Then suppose you risk it, the hood flys up and ruins your windshield, roof, hood, hinges, paint job etc.....
