I'm on the FRPP site...looking at gears:
Ford Racing Performance Parts - [Part Details]

It says "This part is no longer available."

Um...really?

What's going on?

Most likely up date design, or materials like they did with 3.73 a couple years ago and re part number it. Atleast I hope so I just sold 2 sets of 4.10's Friday, I hope they don't kill that ratio

There's just no way that FRPP would discontinue one of the most popular, if not the most popular, gear selections for the 8.8" differential.

Does Nabisco get rid of their white fudge oreos every year after New Years? Why can't Ford? That would suck though...

I think FRPP had two versions of the 4.10 gear set - the g410A and g410M. The "A" version is made by Visteon and the "M" version was made by Motive. The Motive gears had issues with gear whine and I think FRPP finally is getting rid of them. If you go on the site and search for M-4209-G410A you'll see it.

Good spot Redfire thanks for taking the fire out of the mob. I'm sure some people were about ready to :fairyfight: but now it will be :grouphug: as usual...man I love those things...

HOLY ***** Redfire good eye's, I didn't even notice that the original post had 410 not 410A. The 410 has been gone for years.

That's what I was thinking too, but on that same page, I clicked on the 410A and it brought me back to the same place, so it seemed they were getting rid of all versions of 4.10's. But you're right. I put the model number in the search and there it was.

This is great news, because some retailers don't put up the model number, and try to sell you the Motive ones and don't tell you.

I saw the "A" designator....but me being non-smart when it comes to these things, thought that maybe "A" meant it was for "automatics," and "M" for manual trans.

Thanks.

The A was referring to Auburn being the manufacturer and M for Motive as far as I remember. I might be mistaken though. It's been a while since it was explained to me.
