it won't hurt the engine, but you will lose HP....i had my muffler off once (not by choice), and the sound was nice..but the car was slow!

The exhaust site is pretty thurough.

It just proves that when you run no mufflers or off road pipes with dumps that it will open it up so much it sounds like total ass.

If you want your Mustang to sound like an F body with a cutout then by all means ditch the mufflers. Then after about 6 weeks you will be posting asking how to get rid of RASP. RASP sounds like a freakin tin can with hollow popping sounds on decel. You will develope this with no mufflers.

The best sounding and hp making exhausts I have ever dynoed and played with are ...
1. Factory H , Factory manifolds and Flows 40 series with dumps.
Sound is deep and bassy as hell. Mean sounding tone with burble on decel not tin can popping.

2. Mac Prochamber , Factory manifolds and Borla or flows catback.

3. LT headers, High flow bassani X , 3 chamber flows.

JMHO no mufflers=
Besides its illegal as hell here in Charlotte NC.

I took mine off for a week just to see what it would be like and I came to a few conclusions...

1. WAY too loud for daily driver, I mean way too loud. It sounded mean as hell, and if it was weekend drives only, then maybe running without them wouldnt be so bad, but on a daily driver, its just too loud.

2. Like someone else said, it did seem slower....dont know how much truth there is to that though.

Super 40s sound great, but they won't be as loud as the SLP. Dr. Gas X pipe and Flows ...thats my favorite combo for GTs, and you'll turn every head you pass with that set up.

YOU HAVE THAT DAMN 2300rpm OR SO RASP TOO???!!! That is kinda getting on my nerves...loud as hell at that time!!!

I love the sound a ton, but I wish it was a little more consistent (ie. no rasp). I might be grabbing the topline spintech set-up soon.....I want to hear my car from the outside when someone drives it, so I can judge the rasp first tho

Are you confusing RASP with DRONE ?

Just curious as you said 2300 rpm. Thats where the bassy drone comes in that about makes you deaf. (especially under load going uphill)

RASP is a hollow tin can pinging or popping that happens only at wide open throttle and down on deceleration.

I love DRONE , but RASP is not nice

Some people cant take the drone either.

I wish I was! The drone is from 2000-2200 or so on mine. The rasp is....well it is a really hard sound to explain. It is pretty spaced out (only while accelerating) and is pretty loud.

I love the drone!!! Don't like the weird rasp.
