But this SVT section is WEAK!!! I have been a member on SVTSnake.com for about a year and it's a great site for us SVT owners, but you don't have to have a Cobra to join up. There is also a big 4.6L and 5.0L section. You guys should check it out when you get a chance. There is a lot of great info there and it's a good group of guys (and gals).

BTW my name is BlueVenom281 on there...hope to see some of you over there.

yeah, I have been a member over there since day one. ModularFords.com Terminator tech is still the best on the net though. This site is more geared towards the 5.0 guys and even more so the 4.6 2v crowd.

Another vote for Modfords. Is it just me or is this SVT section confusing as hell?

Do you guys have any suggestions to spice it up then?

From the sound of it, it seems as though users have chosen to further specialize into a niche inside the Mustang world. It's not surprising. However, there is no reason the individuals who left could not participate in the same manner on this site.

Maybe I'm missing something if I don't have my sights on the question's direction. Perhaps they just wanted their own domain, claim to fame, piece of e-real estate?

I check out the new posts often and Have read alot of negative comments on the 05/06 Stangs which are 4.6. Maybe more would join in including me if there was more acceptance from the crowd. A Stang is a Stang after all. Just my $.02

I smite any Mustang on Mustang hatred I encounter on this site.

If SVT seems dead in here, what do people want to see more of?

That very well could be. I dont know the reasons but the 03/04 section does seem to be the most active section on that site...

theres nothing you or anyone can do, unless you get everyone to leave modfords and come here. that wont happen. modfords has all the knowledge and all the people that really get into the 03/04 cobra. thats the only section im in because thats the car i own. here im in the classic section which is the best on the net, no other classic section is better (i havent found one at least. back in the day i used to hang out here because of the good 5.0 section (not sure what happened to all my post lol). anyways im not knockin this site, but go look at the threads in the svt section and then go to mod fords........a whole nother world. dont get me started on svtp. only thing youll find good there is if you enjoy to argue. no info and no knowledge (well theres some but it gets shrouded by the morons). JMHO. Ive been here for along time (i know my post count is low, thats because they were lost) and i will continue posting here...................just in the classic section

I have no problem posting here and will continue to do so. But the sections were simpler when SVT for example went straight into SVT Tech. Not the menu for TECH and TALK.

And for some reason, now the forum displays default to only the last 24 hrs of posts and I find myself constantly changing it. Something that I have never changed in my CP since I joined.

It won't no matter what, why?? because most of the cobra owners do not enter this section, but hang out in the 4.6L section, most of us guys are old 4.6L GT owners who did the upgrade

...

WHen I first joined Stangnet in 2001 there was a great svt section. Many of these other sites seem to have taken people away. More accurately what happened was that several Car Clubs formed here on Stangnet and then took their business elsewhere and created their own sites.

As for info...on any of these sites you get a lot of BS or no it alls or people who have done everything to their car and say it runs great but rarely take it to the track..and thats the only reason the car isn't broken all the time..

Then there are the dyno people...who never get 1/4 mile times but brag about 800+HP....often times one or two runs down the 1/4 mile and BOOM something breaks....

FOR info your best bet is to go to your local track or mustang performance shop, hangout and ask questions.

I hope Stanget recovers...It was the first Mustang SIte I was involved in

I think what you are seeing is a simple "over-organization" of the forums here. When I joined in 2000, there were forums based on the year range of Mustang, and then forums for the specialty stangs.

Now there are at least 3 sub forums within those original forums. Why the heck do we need a separate "Talk" and "Tech" forum? What happened to making the "Lounge" (Former AAG forum) a place to ask any general question?

That is why this place seems dead, topics are being placed in more specific areas so it seems like participation is low.

I say get rid of all the sub forums and take it back to what it used to be like years ago. Simple is better. That's how all the other club-type websites do it now.

yeah

Yeah but I think there used to be far more users online and the other sites...SVTperformance, svtsnake, modularforum ect.. all have the separate forums just like here.

But SVTsnake.com if im not mistaken started here and I know for a fact that CJMF Central Jersey Mustangs and Fords teamcjmf.com started here before opening their own site. I met people from this site in the NE forums before that club started.

I really like the garage set up on stangnet now, but I wish there was more participation.

Well, I'm like furnature here and what I find is that you get different answers everywhere you go and if you want to get a whole host of range of answers you need to get around. This site as well as others has great tech guru's.

It's crazy how many businesses and forums originated from this site. The facts would blow you away. There's no stopping it, sadly.

There are hundreds of members I see contribute significant and accurate tech advice and content, daily. It's awesome to see...really.

The problem I see with the SVT section on here is that people don't know which forum to post in...I see many tech question posts end up in the Talk forum and vice versa and I think it confuses people on which one to post in. Also, there are people posting in here with questions about the 5.0L SVT's and from what I've seen most people are 4.6L DOHC owners and don't have the answers to the pushrod questions. Once again, kind of confusing for people. JMO...

And I see that Engineer above has sort of the same view I do...
