So I want a 2nd ignition key. I went to Ace Hardware and then to Home Depot. They both cut the ignition keys wrong. If I were to buy a NOS Ford key, who will cut it? Ace and HE said they can only cut the ones they sell, which doesn't work for crap. Key will most definitely get stuck. It goes in barely. My original goes in like butter and it's not worn at all. Rant over, very annoying though.

I've cut NOS keys at Home Depot. No issue.

You can always go with a new ignition that comes with two new Ford keys.

Have you tried your local Ford dealership? That's where I get mine done and have never had a problem. They even have some of the old keys in stock yet.

Just got an extra set made at Lowe's the other day. They were to put away so I just used their blanks. I didn't care about that set looking NOS. They both work perfectly and were just a couple bucks each. A local locksmith that knows everything about keys and locks will be the best though.

I called the local Ford dealer. They said they have them, and can cut them. Home Depot said they only cut the keys they sell. They did cut them for me, but only the trunk key worked. Ignition key only went in like 1/4" and got tight. That's what she said LOL. Same story at the Ace Hardware. It's weird.
