Ok, last time my car wouldnt start so i figured it was the TFI. I swaped distributers with a friend, used my cap, and the car started no problem It was getting no spark. So i bought a new TFI. Tried to start the car tonight. Still no spark! I took the router off and cleaned it up. I got a small spark once, but nothing after that. Still no spark! So whats fudged on my distributer?

HELP PLEASE!

You have already correctly diagnosed the problem. There is Hall Effect sensor in the distributor that triggers the TFI. It uses the shutter wheel to pass or block an magnetic field.

You have to press the distributor gear off the change the hall effect sensor. It takes a press to get it off and back on again. A lot of guys just spring for a new distributor, since it is about $75 exchange.

Well i took the dist apart today. Might have found the problem in the process though. The two screws that hold down the stator are gone.. they are nowheres to be found! So maybe these two screws need to be there for grounding purposes?

Either way, i ordered a new stator. Should be in tomorrow. Hopefully it works!

Oh the two pins that hold the gear and other thing on (don't know the name) Can you just reuse them? Or get new ones?
