So the story goes the car stalled out when put into neutral and would not start for about 20 minutes. It finally started again I put new plugs, wires, cap, and rotor on that night and it never did it again for 2 months. Then same thing at a gas station it stalled at the pump once it went into neutral and wouldn't start for a half hour. Finally it started drove it home and has never started again. It appears to be a no spark issue as it is getting fuel. I had already swapped out the cap and rotor plugs and wires so I just got a new distributor and had the ignition module tested. The module tested fine but it still will not start. This is a bone stock '91 5.0 ho motor. Anybody have any ideas?? I thought maybe it could still be the ignition module on the side of the distributor or possibly an electrical issue. Any ideas would be appreciated.

When the TFI was tested, was it done repeatedly (to simulate the module haven been used on a hot motor after driving some miles)?

WHen this happens, if you have no spark and no injector pulsing (tested with a noid light) that suggests the PIP.

If you only have no spark, that can be the TFI, coil, etc.

Oh yeah, check for codes. Since it is intermittant, the CEL might not be on, though there is a code tossed in the KAM.

Good luck.

Thanks for the input the TFI was tested a couple times in a row and still tested good. I might replace it anyhow just because it has never been replaced before. I am wondering if the injectors are coming on or not though where can I get one of these noid lights?

Noid lights can be had at any decent parts store. They are under 5 bucks (it is a quick switching test light).

Good luck.
