well this one is confusing the crap out of me. it is a 94 mustang with a 302, that we just did a h/c/i setup on. we got it all back together and it wouldnt start, we had spark but no fuel pressure, or fuel pump prime. there was a loud noise from the ccrm, so we got it replaced. then this is when it got goofy. the fuel pump primes for a couple seconds now, but..... we have lost all spark. The coil is not sparking at all anymore(but it is getting 12 volts at the connector), and we are positive the coil is good. i have gone thru the cranks, but no start checklist, we have got a new coil, tfi, and pip. all the injectors are firing and tps voltage is fine, we have gone thru all the fuses. i dumped codes and it gave me 542 could this possibly be a bad computer, any kind of help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Jon

make sure dist isnt 180out

remove the #1 spark plug and turn the motor over untill u feel air puff out. once you do stop turning it over and check where the rotor is pointing in the dizzy, it should be @ #1, if its not then get the motor to TDC and remove/install the dist so that the pointer is @1 and try again.

It would seem to me you got something mechanical going on from the
upgrade project.

Considering that CCRM is making racket ..............

I'd be looking for faulty wiring like pinched wire, skinned wire, or something
along those lines ... maybe ... shorting out to ground or the like.

Just look over everything you hosed around with real good and I bet
you find it

After all ... it was working OK ... until the project ... Right

Good Luck

542 is fuel pump secondary circiut failure.

as final5-0 said: check all the wiring, the CCRM popped for a reason and the new one may have popped as well.
