I have a 94 GT,,,,,no specific mods. I had a problem about a year ago,,,,wouldnt start at times,,,,,new coil,,, new ignition module,,,didnt fix it. I later found some grounded / melted wires on the pick-up unit in the Dist. So I replaced it with a stock reman dist,,,,, problem solved..
Now,,,,she seems to just shut down on me,,,,checked to see if i had spark at the coil,,,, no spark....... So i put the other coil,,,and Ignition module back on that i had leftover from before,,,,, still no spark!!! Checked for power to the ignition module and the to the pick up unit,,,got power. Now here is the weird part. I was going to check if i had a pip signal to the module,,,, back probed the green wire at the module with a test light,,,,,had my son crank the car to see if i had any pulses, None. So i thought,,try it again,,,,, when i probed the wire,,,,i heard what seamd like the various systems turning on and off,,,,like they were resetting themselves,,, my son hit the key and the car started right up..........
So,,,,, I am thinking that i have a bad pick up in the dist,,,,,but i cant confirm that. And why did it react the way it did when i probed the wire,,,and then start

The PIP wires are a known issue where they enter the dizzy. If moving the wires changes the symptoms, the PIP should be replaced.

When testing, if you have no spark and no injector pulsing, the PIP or its wiring are likely bad. Remember that puter uses heat-sink tech.
