No throttle, the pedal is down.

So I get close to home and notice my pedal is very close to the floor. There is also a wire tie lying on the rug below. I got home and looked under and there is a rubber hose and zip ties around the cable. There is a piece just past the cable where it goes through the pedal, to take up the slack.

What goes here? I would like to change this ghetto rig set up.

Thanks.

I take it you're not the original owner? the cars come from the facotry with about an inch or so of slack in the cable, why I do not know. a common "mod" is to put a rubber hose, zipties, anything to take up the slack in the cable so that it's easier to heel-toe or just to improve the pedal position.

Correct, I am not the original owner. Thanks a ton for that info, I thought it was rigged like that to fix something that had broke. That is unbelievable how much slop is in the pedal from the factory, wow. Right now I have zip ties, but I am going to get a spacer to make it a little more "pro" lol.

Thanks!

Sounds like some douche did the dubious "throttle cable free play mod" on your car :notnice:

You will probably have to take it to a dealer unless you can find another car to look at to see how it is supposed to be.
