i have a 2003 mustang gt convertable and i just had a new corbra clutch kit installed and my tranny fluid change but the clutch still makes a little chattering noise but goes away when i push on the clutch its not loud or anything i have to put my head down lower to hear it. the people that put the clutch in said that it is normal and it will go away in about 500 to 1000 miles when the clutch is fully broke in, but also when u rev it up while ur in nuetral it u can also can hear rhe chattering noise to. I am just to find out if this is normal or not .

they put in a whole new clutch kit which included a pilot bearing, tob, disc, and pressure plate and they resurfaced the flywheel

Sounds like they put all the right replacement parts in. I have done clutch jobs replacing everything, and some jobs leaving the PB and TB, and I have never had chatter. It might go away within 500 miles because that is normal break in time, but I still do not think it should have this.

the TOB is supposed to be under some pressure at all times. If you leave a lot of pedal freeplay so that the clutch picks up very close to the floor, you can get TOB noise.

If you have the stock adjuster mechanism, and it still works, pull up on the clutch pedal to let the spring take the slack out and it might quieten down. If you have the stock adjuster and it is broken, replace it. You can get a new cable with manual adjuster on the end, plus an aluminum replacement quadrant from Advanced for under 90 bucks total. Then you can adjust it so that the take up point is at 2-2.5" from the floor, and get rid of the noise.

It is always possible the new TOB is bad of course, but not very likely.
