I installed 1.5 inch lowering springs and after doing so I noticed a creaking almost metal on metal sound when I turn the steering wheel. After the job was done I realized I didn't take the spring isolators off the factory springs and put them on the new lowering springs. Would having no spring isolators cause that noise?

Yes. The springs turn a little when you turn the steering wheel. It shouldn't harm the car at the moment, but it might cause sticky turning down the road over time if there is wear on the parts and oxidation.
