non adjustable rocker pushrod length

I am using gt40 heads on a 289 block with pedestal non adjustable rockers. With the stock 289 pushrods, there is a tiny but of play between the pushrod and rocker arm. I can wiggle the rocker back and forth a tiny bit. Do the lifters pump up and eliminate this slack? Or do I need a longer pushrod

If you had rail rockers on the 289, you've got the right pushrods. The earlier adjustable, pre april 66 rods would be too short.

I did have adjustable rockers and not the rail rockers... Is there a specific type if pushrod to ask for at napa, or just any 67 to 68 pushrod out of a 289

After many trips to autozone, if you ask for a 84 mustang 5.0 pushrod it is the correct pushrod for this application.
