you could put Pi intake and exhaust valves in them and tell the person who is proting them that one of the weak spots on the intake and the exhaust port is the short term radius. Put a set of PI cams in it and you can make pretty decent power out of them. I am suprised someone has come on here and talked about how bad the non PI heads are. Go to steenracing.com and look and see what all they have done for a better idea of what all to do.

Want a set to p/p?
Hey if you're interested, I just picked up a set of used 1996 heads...still assembled with all the stock valvetrain and cams. I'll sell them to ya if you decide to stick with the stock heads. That way you can have an extra set to have all the work done to, and still keep your car driveable until you get ready to swap the heads... If it were me though, I'd do the PI head swap. I'll throw those '96 heads on ebay next week anyways.

I have a set of Livernois P&P non PI heads for sale. They were ported and polished by Livernois Motorsport in Michigan. They have their custom cams for the heads, and modded vavles and springs. I am selling for less than a set of PI heads is going to cost. If you are interested let me know

JohnnyLangton is making mighty decent power with P&P non-PI heads. No spam intended but Steen Racing and Renegade Racing come highly recommended as shops that know how to get the most out of the non-PI heads.
I agree that a PI intake and cams (PI or aftermarket) would allow you to make the most of the P&P non-PI heads. In fact, you can start with these and then see if you want to spend more loot for a P&P job. You will need a tune in any case and this will run you about $400.
