thanks, im saying 150 becuase my brother had a 150 shot in his 99 with all the mods i have, he also has 3:73 and Lt's and a few more, he raced a cobra with 500rwhp and stood a bumper ahead of the cobra in 2nd, 3rd, and they let off at low 4th... i want to be close to his numbers, and so far not going so well lol

Yeh but you are riding on a hope and prayer with a stock bottom-end and a 150hp shot. I have over $1,500 in my nitrous kit and i still will not push it with a 150hp shot. I run 125hp Shot all day though. You can get a very good tune and run 150hp shot but still its like running 12lb boost on a stock motor it aint going to last long. I am still Fully NPI and my little 2v with the right gears and a good driver you can be fast. I suggest doing PI Intake & Cam Swap if you are going the spray route or any route for that matter. My car will run high to mid 13's in the 1/2 mile with a 4.10 gear and built automatic tranny. Add Intake, and Cams and I see 12's. Then when bottom end goes, forge bottom-end, Port & Polish NPI Heads, Lt's, And Add 150hp Shot or more and have fun. Thats my opion on the whole deal.

150 shot without a tune and it didnt blow... Your bro is running on borrowed time.

Safest way to run a 150 shot is with a tune and all the saftey acessories. Alot of people even like to upgrade to an SVT Focus fuel pump. Stock injectors are fine, as using a wet kit supplies the extra fuel.

It can last with a 150 shot as long as the motor is healthy and you dont abuse it, but skipping certain steps is a quick way to break something.

you would blow your motor with a 150 shot. ive done a 100 shot for years and will not go higher without forged components. just think that your only pushing 190 and you wanna add 150 more to that. that is a 75% increase. now lets take a NA cobra. at 320 hp and adding a 75% increase to it would be a 240 shot. not smart at all. pi swap would be good or a 100 shot is awesome. im still npi and put down 300rwhp and 443rwtq. if i was you i would do a pi swap and just have the power there all the time. but its your call and your motor

Pretty Good Bit, Since you are spraying you might wanta go with a HPS, Trickflow, Professional Products or some type of Metal PI Intake. I am going with a Ported HPS

just remember that when the statement of borrowed time was made, you have no idea how much borrowed time your particular car would have on a 150 shot. it could last 2 years or it could last 2 days. Just think about where you'd be putting your money and that you'd be out a car. I myself am an 18 year old college student who is too busy and tight on money to put into the car. I couldnt see myself buying a kit and putting it on and it blowing a few days later. I really think you should re-evaluate and look into the pi swap minus the heads and put some 3.73s or 4.10s... That's just my 2 cents about it being im in the same boat you are... but again its your car man, all we can do as a forum is just help guide in the right direction

so what shoud be the number increses for the PI intake and cams???? will it be close to the stock numbers of a 99-04? becuase im starting to have second thoughts about this and just go the easy way and put on a 150 shot

well ill tell you this man i got a buddy with an auto 98 GT with just a PI intake and then xpipe, catback, and 4.10 gears and he can run down some mach 1s.

so to answer your question the PI manifold alone will put you around the 99-04 gts

you could do a 150 shot and take the easy way out but let me tell ya it wont solve anything lol. nitrous is fun till you are filling that bottle up a lot. you will want the power all the time. I use to be spraying a 150 and now i have a kenne bell supercharger and its a lot more fun having the power when i want it.

The PI intake is a pretty easy mod. I did mine by myself in about 4 hours work time. Just make sure you get the ports sealed correctly. I gained about 2/10's and 2 MPH at the track after my swap. The cams are a different story...best to have a helper and don't go too big. If you get PI cams they are cheap but if you go with an aftermarket just stay with the 262's from Comp or Stage 1 Crowers. You may find some used (I did) and no issues for 60K miles. They had about 6000 when I bought them. Keep in mind with the cams and intake you will want a tune to get everything working together.

Just some numbers to let you know where you are headed. I never ran my car at the track stock so I really don't have a baseline until I had the 4.10's.

Best time with gears: 14.698@93.78

PI Intake: 14.526@95.48

Cams: 14.60@99.62
(notice the times were goofy but the MPH jumped considerably...needed a tune)

Tune: 14.057@98.67

Driver mod : 13.827@103.02

Don't ask me about the MPH jump. I have no clue but I backed it up twice. I think it was shift point related but I haven't really had time in a good while to get back to the track and practice.

Side note...the 75mm TB is too much and you are likely losing power with it. Until you are pushing 300HP 70mm is fine.

You wont need a tune, and just search for timing cams. there's all kinds of tech articles.

X2. Plus you can use a "cam changing tool" from Ford that will do the job without the need to take the front engine cover off and have to re time the cams.
