Good H/C/I set up with a Novi 2k could be over 500 rwhp easy.
No reason to open the rear end really, get a buddy to pace you at 65 and record the RPMs and you should be able to figure out what gears are in it. ( assuming a T5 trans)

It is a T5 tranny, But ok I'll just try that. What gear would you recommend, 4th or 5th? I haven't actually taken it on a hwy yet. Bought it, parked it and now i'm doing little maintenance before taking it out this weekend.

Maybe....but you need a friend and that friend hopefully has a stock vehicle with an accurate speedo. Then drive all the way to the freeway. My way takes maybe 5 minutes on a level surface. So how does your way work? You get to 65mph, record your rpm, then what?Driving it sounds easier to me

It's the white one for 3.73. It'll get it kinda close for a lil while but it will eventually it will get chewed up. It's not a ford part but its the closest fit. To get the speedo dead in you have to change the gear in the tail shaft.Mine was updated when my frpp 3.73's were installed.I thought the speedo gear was black for the 3.73s but I could be mistaken.

I have spent some time going through the car trying to figure out what all has been done to the car and what I still need to do to the car. I did figure out what gear were in the rear end by putting it up on jacks and rotating the wheel one full turn and watching the drive shaft turn 3 1/2 turns.

Looking through the thread, the pictures more specifically, the only problem I saw aside from surface rust was the heater lines had been chopped, which most likely means a failed heater core. Aside from that, it's a pretty car man. Congrats. I love a nice lx!
