Rewind to last year:
During the rainy season i noticed that if i stepped on the gas real fast the car would rev in gear then grab and go. What ended up happening was on the freeway my clutch/pressure just blew and my car started shaking. So i replaced it with a King Cobra Clutch Kit. I have gone maybe 6000 miles since then.
So today i went to go pick up my car at American Tire Depot because it was left there over night. And i was driving home in 3rd and wanted to speed up. The car rev'd and then grabbed. WTF? I was soo pissed off, wondering if water got inside the clutch assembly or what... I was in 1st gear and i stepped on the gas and it seems to grab right away with no reving.
What could the problem? I just spent 650 on tires because american tire depot doesnt respect there warranties. I've spent 1300 on tires in a year. Long story.

But what would be the problem going on now. I'm so sick of this mustang. It's been problem after problem... But i still love it to death....

Maybe your clutch cable is set too tight. The pedal should have a little bit of slack at the top.

Yeah there is really no slack on the pedal like when i try to lift it up. And the engagement is maybe like a inch from the top. So VERY VERY VERY high. I have this cable linkage kit...

That is your issue. You are preloading the diaphram fingers too much (like riding the clutch).

I would dial all of the preload out (till the cable has slack in it). If you are doing this with an adjustable (at the fork) cable, you can use your pinky finger to pull the cable as it enters the clutch fork to feel when you have slack in it. So dial out all the preload and then either leave it with a smidge of freeplay or tighten the cable just a hair (tiny amount of preload). Your pedal should engage closer to the floor after this and the clutch should not slip.

Thanks Hissin and TrueBlue...I got under there today, and took off the cover to the fork. I felt the cable and it was so tight i couldnt move it at all. I wasn't positive what to do to loosen it, but i removed the small nut on the end, and turn the threaded rod to the left so it loosened. I had it so the cable wasnt completly tight and it wasn't dangling. Then i put the small nut back on and held the threaded rod as i tighten the small nut. I fired it up and went full throttle in 3rd gear and it didn't rev!!! Thanks so much guys!

That is the way to do it. I back them off till I can wiggle the cable laterally and then snug them up a hair. I just converted to a stock cable and FWA and I dont like it - I preferred getting under to adjust the cable since wiggling the exposed cable is the only decent way to feel when you have freeplay.

I tighten it to where there is no slack in the cable and then a little bit more (otherwise the TOB can make noise).
