Not another clutch noise question!!

Hey guys..

I had this problem ever since I put in that cheap clutch last year!..My whole clutch pedal shakes and my throw out bearing squeaks so much!! . I hear like a squeaky turning bearing noise coming from my shifter booth from the inside of the car...can this be the throw out bearing also? I'm installing my KC clutch I just got this week..I wanna know what to change to fix these problems since I'm down their. Thanks

does it change if you press on the clutch pedal slightly?

dont forget to think about swapping out the stock aluminum retainer (if you still have it) for a steel replacement when you do the clutch.

aluminum retainer..? What is that exactly. Yes the noise goes away slightly when I put a little pressure on the clutch pedal. Thanks

then it sounds like your TOB. the hub that the TOB slides on is the input shaft retainer. years of the TOB sliding on it wear it out. later models came with a steel one, which does not get all torn up as easily - they go for around 40 bucks from any speed shop, D&D, etc. good upgrade if yours looks like poop.

you could dial in a little preload on the clutch cable to get rid of the noise for now (it is acceptable to preload the cable. just dont preload it too much).

I bought my Cobra back in October last year. I had the exact problem and thought it was the TB. I changed the TB and found the next day that it was squeeking again. I pulled the trans again and replaced the TB again with the bearing retainer. I added the steel shafted retainer and while that was out I added a new king cobra clutch and machined my FW. Everything is quiet and perfect. Seems the aluminum bearing retainers warp in an oblong fashion and cause the squeek due to being out of round.
