Drove my 79 Capri today. Found the carb leaking, and took it off tonight. Accelerator pump diaphram was leaking, so I got in my 97 F150 4x4 and went off to Advance Auto. D@^%n, the ABS light is on! First time ever!
Fix the Capri.
Truck had brake fluid, added some anyway. Light's still on.
Came in and went to F150 online, searched for ABS light, and found out that sensor failure is common, especially on the rear.
Went out and looked under the rear of the truck. The wires are cut in two. Sort of had mangle marks on the wire loom cover.
Soldered them back together and fixed it!
Heard a noise in my neighbor's tree, and my dog barked. Moved the truck up the driveway and parked it for the night.
On the way to the garage, I notice a large racoon contentedly feeding under my big old oak tree. He seemed happy when I got a flashlight and shined it on him, I guess it made it easier to see what he was eating.
Seems like he ate my ABS wires earlier today!
Tomorrow I will leave a roll of green #14 out there for him to eat.
