I have a fairly accurate tire pressure guage and I checked my tires today. All tires had around 24 to 24.5 pounds of air. This is eight pounds low. I set all four tires to exactly 32 pounds and the car drives much better now :nice: And it did not cost anything :D

Here's my air guage, it rocks:

Yes, it has been some time since I checked mine. I estimate six months. Amazing how all four tires leaked down almost the same eight pounds during that time...

I didn't check mine for about a year, and they were all like 10psi low when I finally did. I use a digital gauge I got with Marlboro miles like 10 years ago. Ahh I miss smoking.

Very good point. I constantly give the tires a visual. Low air is dangerous. My Stang sat for 7 weeks.Checked yesterday..25,24,24,20. I air'd up to 30 front-29rear(Nitto DR)

How do I know how much I should put in my tires? I do not have the stockers any more. I have 265/35/18 and 285/35/18. Is it somewhere on the sidewall or does that just tell you the Max PSI it can hold?
I think you should run between 28 and 32 pounds regardless when driving on the street.

WHat pressure to run usually depends on the weight of the vehicle in combination with the surface area of the tire on the ground. The stock air pressure is 30 psi with 245 series rubber.

Now some Mustangs weigh more than others. A bare bones V6 is lighter than a loaded '03 Cobra vert, so the air pressures needed would be different.

With a wider tire, you can theoretically go with less pressure. You can figure it out mathematically if you want to get that involved in it.

My point is no two cars will be the same. What one guys runs on his car may not work for you.

Doesnt everybody

I think Im running 25-28 right now. Im just too lazy. Hell, I even have a portable air pump that plugs into my ac outlet, and Im still too lazy
