Well im confused, because my car had to be jumped last night, i sorta figured it was the voltage regulator, cuz its a brand new battery. There is enough power for the lights to shine bright, and my stereo to play, but the motor just wont start, anyone know what it is??

Will it turn over or just click? First I would get the battery tested since it will jump off. I know that it is new but that makes no difference with batteries. I have seen them go bad in a couple days in cars. Get it tested and then when there is either a charged or new battery in the car have the alternator checked. Most places like autozone or advance will do both for you for free. The problem you are describing sounds like a amperage problem. The lights and all just need 12v to operate. The starter requires quite a bit of amperage to operate properly and start the car.

Like said before, a new battery doesn't constitute a working battery. What is your car doing? Will the starter crank the motor when you turn the key? Or do you get clicking?

If you get clicking, the battery is not holding a charge. So either the battery is bad, or your alternator is bad. Go to autozone, and have them tested. Simple and easy.

yea, i the alternator tested fine, and the battery IS bad, so i replaced that, and also, my battery cables had a bad connection, so i got new ones, but what would have drained the battery in the first place? Because this is two new batteries in like two months!
