Not the "run-of-the-mill" CAI question

I have a Trickflow plenum along with adapter plates for the intake manifold on my 96. This causes the throttle body to sit higher than normal. I put the stock inlet from the MAF to the TB since it is flexable originally. I recently swaped back to the Mac CAI tube but it doesn't fit too well under the strut tower. It is cocked at an angle and I noticed at the track last night it had actually slipped to where there was a small gap between the inlet and the TB. Had anyone found one that will flex under the strut tower to replace the stocker?

I believe the demolet one will fit under the STB, whereas the JLT one won't.. I haven't purchased a CAI yet, but have looked into those two..

You could get creative with it. I don't exactly know the way it looks but you may be able to use a 45 or 90 degree 'silicone elbow'. Then connect the stock rubber thing to the silicone elbow by inserting a small section of pipe in between. Or, you may be able to figure something else out ..

Here is a site that sells AWESOME silicone stuff, browse around their site .. The stuff is not cheap, but it is worth it. My brother has a 240SX pushing like 550hp at the wheels and he uses this stuff.

This is somewhat unrelated but here is a picture of my CAI on my truck. I made it using pipe, paint, and HTS cuplers (the site previously mentioned) oh, and a welder for the angle going to the filter.

Is it really? My car (98) did not come with one but I always wondered if they helped at all. Guess not???

No prob .. Just make sure, if money is not that big of an issue, to get some "T-Bolt clamps". You have to order them by diameter ... Those things are badass and are worth the 4 bucks each or whatever ..

thr demolet fits under the STB and has rubber end pieces giving it more wiggle room.
