notched pistons?

did anyone out there have to get notched pistons for the AFR heads? i havent put them on because im not so sure. i appreciate any answers

for the 165s, you will not have to have your pistons notched...but it is going to depend on the cam that you are using. For AFR 185s (202 intake valve), you will have to have your pistons notched.

Ifyour block is already together, there is a tool where you, yourself can notch your own pistons while they are in your block. I think the tool is offered from isky or comp cams. You can also rent it from them via the net. A competent machine shop should be able to notch pistons while still in the blck also.
