notchy 2nd gear??

My 2000 was notchy and deliberate and so is my 2005. The stock shifter is perfectly fine for street use. Let me put it this way: It's not the smoothest or fastest shifter, but I never wonder what gear I'm grabbing. And it never fights going into gear.

On my 2000, going to 3.73's made a BIG difference in fun factor and SOTP feel. Now, going from 3.55's to 3.73's, I'm not sure how noticable it would be. Problem is, after having the 3.73's, I can't imagine driving at 75-80 every day with 4.10's.

Also, with 4.10's and other mods, it wouldn't take much to start having traction problems with the stock 235 all-season tires.

When Cold, the Gears will feel "cold". Warm them up before you start pullin them and you will be fine.

Just like warming up before playing Hockey.

Notchy feel

Use of the triax shifter will reduce the time the synchronizer has to match the gears. That will roughen the feel. They also produce some noise. Any chance the stops are preventing full motion of the synchro- Tremec says there are internal stops inside the trans. Hope this helps. This new 05 trans is much nicer than the old ones.

Mine is a little notchy when I first start to drive. Only for the first couple shifts though.
