I notice the oily watery soot in the tailpipes, I believe this is normal. But I've noticed it dripping on the ground, is that normal? I wonder if my fuel isn't quality, or if the soot mixture is just dripping enough it hits the ground? I hope its normal. I don't notice any smoke from the tailpipes or anything, the car seems to run fine, no check engine lights, no noticeable oil lost, I use 91 octane chevron, etc.

It is normal. How many miles do you have ? Over time the soot in the pipes builds up and mixes with the condensation inside the pipes. The only way it can escape is to drop out with the water.

Oh boy....I see why you're nervous. At 30k the original gave up the ghost ay. My car has the tailpipes black on the inside already. I only run high test and only have 8500 miles. It's also a 19.

I run Chevron 91 Octane, thats the best fuel available here, aside from astronomically expensive racing fuel. should I try boosting my fuel octane some?
