I am ready to order a blower finally! Basicly I want to make sure with you guys that there aren't any major reasons not to go with the Novi 1000. I know I will be limited and "stuck" at under 400rwhp without major work or swapping blowers but I never plan to take this motor above 350-400rwhp anyways. Other than that is there any real "problem" or concern with this system. I would be getting it with about 5k miles on it for $1800 with everything except the fuel pump and chip. What do you guys think? Also with this kit and a stock pulley how much power do you think i would be lookin at? :flag:

It is my understanding that the novi 1000 is weaker than the vortech s-trim. I think around 1000 cfm. And honestly have never met anyone that actually had a novi 1000. Everybody i know who buys a paxton buys a novi2000. Also with the blower already having 5000 miles on it, i think u said. I would advise against a used supercharger. Friend of mine had a used procharger put on his car and it crapped out on him and he was lucky he didn't suck anything in the motor. Just go with a s-trim.

My brother (mo_dingo from the 5.0 tech) thought of a good idea, what if I had the shop post it on ebay with a buy it now price so I would have some security as far as them selling me a broken part. Think this would remove some of the fear of buying used right? Again, I'm not too concerned with the cfm rating seeing as this kit at 8psi or so would make more than my 350rwhp goal with my current mods. The only reason im avoiding the vortech is cost. The cheapest kit I have found is 2400 without injectors, maf, chip, or pump so for an extra 1k or so I find it hard to justify just for unused potential. Keep it comin, I am very excited about this and want to make sure there isn't another cheap option that would be better.

prochargers have a reputation of not having the greatest build quality, so i wouldnt take that as a good example. Paxton s/cs are imo the highest quality centrifugal blowers out there, never heard quality issues with one and they make more power than vortechs with the same psi, friend of mine had a vortech and switched to a paxton with the same boost pressure and make made something like 25-30 more hp, only reason u dont see more paxtons is probably the price, for 1800 id go with the paxton.

The first one for 2200 is in my price range but the others are a little too much for me right now. Maybe I'll be patient and keep an eye out for one but I can have the novi 1000 done and installed myself for around 2200 so I guess I'll have to find someone who really wants to get rid of theirs to beat that.

Thats what i've always thought too, now I know the 1000 isn't the pride and joy of paxton but I cant imagine its a bad blower.. This or maybe a 2300 S-trim kit that he pointed out. See, i'm trying to keep the price below 2500 after everything is considered so one of these shoudl be idle. Thanks guys :nice:

Pony up for the S trim. You will be severely limited with the novi 1000 and will kick yourself for not have gotten the 2000 or an S trim, trust me. Getting 350 rwhp out of the 1000 will require exhaust (which you have), a power pipe, a really good tune, and potentially a smaller pulley.

Good luck with it.

I plan on adding my pulleys and long tube headers before adding the blower. Do you really think it's worth getting the vortech instead if I will never take this motor above 400rwhp? I know I will want more power and all that but I am going to be building an older mustang up in the future which I will be doing all the major modding to, this is just gonna be my daily driver. :flag:

Yes, if you want 400 hp. With the S trim, getting 400 rwhp is easy. Going from 350 to 400 rwhp with the 1000 is very difficult, for some reason. Also, at the higher hp range the S trim will be working more efficiently. I'm spinning my 1000 to its limit and have not reached 400 rwhp on the current tune. Granted, once I get the SCT tune and water injection, I expect 450 or so. You will not have to overspin the S trim. You could probably get 400 on 10-12# boost.
