NOVI 1200/ alternative supercharger pics

i guess youve already been to paxtons website? if not thats where id start. every one has their opinions; mine is that right now, for carb'd centrifugal superchargers, the 1200 kit is the best (technologically advanced). it seems to be the most efficient compared to other non-intercooled kits and is one of the least expensive kits. by the way, i just added a paragragh to your other post!

Hey Rick. Yeah, I have been to their website and have searched all over the internet. All I can really find is just the Paxton Add Summary: http://proficientperformance.com/Me...ercharger_ford_mustang_novi1200&Store_Code=PP I am just wondering what other people's tested opinions are of this product. I will talk to performance shops as I get closer to sitting down and planning the application out.
Also, will the Paxton carb enclosure fit under a stock hood and a regular height Performer RPM intake?
Thanks! -Taylor

The Paxton set-up is prolly the simplest. It depends on how much power you want to make. I talked to a guy who had a Procharger set-up, it looked real clean. He was running 15# on a D1SC. I just looked up his name, its mstngr65. He was making some good power out of it. He said Procharger doesnt have a ford kit, but if you call them, they will peice one together, this was over a year ago. For lots of good info on blow thru carbs, check out the carb section on turbomustangs . Its mainly turbos, but there are some with SC and alot of the issues with blow thru turbos are similar to SC

mjday - Hey man, that looks awesome. I have seen that picture on the website before and it just looks perfect. Can you tell me a little bit about your setup. Would the Paxton Carb enclosure clear a stock hood with a stock height intake? Would you have to relocate the battery even without the "custom" air intake? Are there any more shots of the motor? Thanks again.

Thanks 2nd Mustang. This is just what i need to see. That project motivates me.
Come on mdjay, lets see some more pictures of your beast....

Here's some more of the car and thank you for the props...

It does clear the stock hood with a stock intake. Battery relocation is only required for the passenger mount. However, the passenger mount is required for cars that want to run A/C.

It is important to note that Paxton does not OFFICIALLY support air conditioning on these kits. The passenger mount is to clear power steering components. Modification might be required to get the AC to work.

mdjay, did you have much modification in yours for the AC?

I would like to know this too. I will be running the same setup that you will. The Sanden A/C unit on the driver side with the blower on the passenger. Also, is it really necessary to move the battery to the rear? It didn't say on Paxton's website that a battery modification had to be made. Thanks. -Taylor

paxton

Thanks Christen. It's the 1200. Just the stock pulley 7.5 lbs. The AC belt is an issue. We have to run it with the power steering for now. It works fine. The motor is rapped all the way out prior to the charger. Paxton has estimated my set-up to be around 600 hp. Too new to dyno for actual numbers. Only 100 miles on the motor. We're a little lean right now so we're playing with some bigger jets.. Super nasty power band though! It kinda scares ya a little bit.

Oh yeah, I'm running the KRC pump with a aftermarket Sanden compressor mount from Classic Auto Air. I had to modify the ac bracket to mount them both in that area.

Hey mjday - I see it now; that you omitted the A/C unit for now. I am not running power steering though. So will the belt not work out with the Sanden A/C unit? Would i need a different pulley. I just curious as to how much difference there is between the powersteering and the A/C unit pullies.

Also, what compression ratio are your running in your internals. I plan on just doing the 7.5 pulley also to stay safe. I am running the combo listed in this post: http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=470946 . Thanks for all the helpful comments.

It works with very little belt movement. I've managed to keep the compression down to 9.2 to 1. We kept the stock stroke, I beams, forged pistons etc. 586 full roller, gt40 alum heads with lots a work. 202 valves, comp adjustable roller rockers, victor jr etc... It's important to note, the paxton system works with either a double pumper or demon. Demon is suggested for adjustability...
