As I understand it, the Novi-2000 kit comes with a 7" crank pulley. Is there any reason I couldn't use my UD crank pulley, and just use a smaller pulley on the supercharger? I understand that the less contact area there is between the belt and the SC pulley the more likely there is to be slipping, but I'm only looking for 8psi surely there's a happy medium somewhere in there.

You will probably have to have a stock crank pulley. I ran into this same situation when I installed my powerdyne. The blower pulley is actually going to slide into the crank pulley. The underdrive pulley is too small and will not work. The do make aftermarket pulleys that are one piece and include an underdrive pulley. As far as boost pressure goes, that will depend on how well(or poorly) your engine breathes. The more restrictions you have in the heads, the easier you will "show" boost. Example: With stock heads my powerdyne made 10psi at 5500rpm. The I installed Trickflow track heat heads. This was the only change. Boost dropped to 5psi at 5500rpm. This is because the new heads flow way better. Simple pulley change and I am back up to 10psi. 10psi with the trickflows means even more power, lol. Now I gotta start on my turbo project.

ASP racing makes under/over crank pulley's. I have a 7" 6 rib (under on the accessory belt, and over on the drive for the charger.) They also make them in 8 rib and 8" pulley's. Here is the web page http://www.aspracing.com/frame.htm

i had to take my under drives off when i put on my sc. the u/d pulleys dont do much other then make your alt work harder so i didnt mind seeing them go. with the crank pulley i had no choice because my vortech came with a crank pulley that was one piece (it replaced the u/d cause it had the 6rib main and the 8rib sc in one)
