Did Ford recall the 96-98NPI intakes too? I just noticed that my newly purchased 97 has the aluminum crossover. My 98's had an aluminum crossover on the intake with the headswaps, but haven't seen a NPI intake with one. Thanks

Thats why I was curious to what intake I have. The reason is that I didnt know that they made a aluminum crossover intake for NPI heads, and I figured if they did, a person having the work done would just swap a PI one on to get the benefit of it, btw, I looked for quartermile solutions, and saw they had a gear sale going on if Im not mistaken. Who are the guys, and how much experience do they have with mod motors. Would you trust them with a 04 4v/ t56 swap and building a complete rear end?
Thanks,

Mark

Well the previous owner likely feared the RTV method which is why he went with the NPI intake with the alum. crossover. I would go with the PI intake--though would likely end up screwing it up somehow (even though I have read MANY write-ups ) and be without a car for a few days

PM sent about QMS

Im in the same boat as you. Im fairly confident in my mechanical skills, and have done a couple of headswaps, or should I say, taken a part in them. I'd consider tackling it myself, but it definetly would be my car. If I messed something up, at least I would know that it was my car

While I can't be there in person, unless you live in Kansas City, KS, I can walk you through or help you if you get stuck. I've swapped seven so far for various people and they are really easy to do. Have a torque wrench handy. It's just unbolting and moving things out of the way and then bolting it back on using torque specs. If your unsure of yourself and own a digital camera, then take lots of pics of the way things are arranged on the top end. Use the zoom feature. Also, buy a repair manual for the torque specs if you don't already have one. I can provide the specs if you need them though.
