im about to order a set of these gauge overlays and i have a question.... it may be stupid but i just want to make sure of a few things.

my car is an 88 but the trim pieces for the cluster are from a 93 GT so do i need to order for my car 87-93 or do i need to get the 90-93? from the pics on there site i cant tell a difference but maybe its something little?

what i did when i put the 140mph speedo from the 93 cluster in to my 88 was speedo swap and then the whole top of the cluster from the 93 was put on the 88 cluster...giving it the look of a 93 for the cluster

here are what i am talking about

it wont let me link to specific gauge so you will have to scroll down to mustang (on the left )

and click on Mustang GT 87-89 LX
(EL-Glo EL-Glo Gauge Face Overlays)

for the 87-93

and for the 90-93 click on

Mustang GT 90-93 LX
(El-Glo EL-Glo Gauge Face Overlays)

http://www.nrauto.com/sub_index.asp?spage=Gauges

and for the trim piece that im talking about its this.

87-89 cluster

90-93 cluster

You need the gauges for the 93 cluster becuause they have different mounting points than the 87-89

So it's an '88 cluster, but you swapped the 140MPH speedo in??

What is the "top part of the cluster" you swapped on?? The gauge pod that holds the headlight switch and defrsoyt switch?

You need to buy the gauges for what the cluster is. Since it's an 87-89 cluster, w/ 140MPH speedo, you want to order the gauges for that. Basically you have an '89 cluster with the 140MPH speedo.

nah not that trim. like the top of the speedo cluster....let me see if i can find some pics...

see what i circled? this bolts on after you swap the speedo...instead of using the cover that lens bolts to from my 88 i used the one from the 93...along with the lens...it looks cleaner imo..

circles are where the bolts bolt in...sorry im very un clear with all of this.
