Recommended Valve Springs 986-16

, now here is the specs on those valve springs...

Part # Description ID Seat Load Open Load CoilBind Price/Set
986-16 1.430 2-Spring (984-974) .697 132 @ 1.750 280 @ 1.250 1.150 $83

How different are the specs on these springs then from the stock 5.0 heads? Im installing this cam in my ported stock heads but im not sure where im gonna find these springs in canada... I have some old racing springs that have a inner spring what if i just used those inside of new stock springs would that work?

Springs are a very important part of the combo, you shouldn't toss an old set of racing springs that have a inner spring in there without knowing what the rates are.

The 986 spring is different than stock springs but many have complained about them still being too soft for that cam. Most run a spring that has @ 140-145 seat & @ 350ish rate with excellent results.
