Wow, that is a lot better looking than I thought it would be. Actually makes it look like the front seats have less room than the backs.

How much heavier is the vert than the coupe?

I cant wait to see the "HARDTOP CONVERTABLE" that is the word through ford. A dealer with "DEEP" family roots in FORD engineering said they're coming mid-late 2005. Im interested. The 400hp Gt is supposed to be out next year but dont know what kind it is (IE... S/C'd, 5.4L, Cobra???) This guy also said the SVT COBRA will not be out until 07... that will be unfortunate if it is an accurate statement. My stage 3 roush is on the way baby!!!!

None of the Mustangs come with anything but glass windows in the verts now. No, there is no pop-up roll bar. Yes, the top comes in other colors: Medium Parchment (shown), black and white.

Not usually a fan of verts, but it doesn't look too bad... different rims and I'd probably like it. Overall,though...

Yes, much, much better than the fastback coupe.

Did the "guy" put a boot on too, or is that how the top looks down with no boot?

He did not put a boot on, that's how it looks top down. He did say that is one of the problems with the car right now. When I first walked up he was pushing the top down because it was sticking up over the headreast an inch or two. I'm sure it will be fixed by the time they launch the car.

I own a 2001 gt vert now, Don't get me wrong, I like verts a lot. But in this body style the coupe is better looking. the retro fastback top is lost in the vert.imho

Beautiful -- thanks! BTW, did you notice if that was a glass rear window or not? Hard to tell from the pics, but it certainly looks like one.

Dude I think you just got these pic's from someone else,,, because you couldnt notice that the boot was actually on?? I can see it on the pics, but you couldnt notice it, while being there in person!??
Also I can clearly see from the pic's that the backwindow is glass,, and you said you didnt know if it was or not,,,
I , just like others appriciate the pics you put up there,, but I have some doubts that you were actually there to take pictures,,
The boot is on, otherqise it wouldnt look as smooth with the top down

Also on another topic , I do agree with aremann2 about the vert,,, I love the looks of any Mustang vert, but on 2005, with top on it completely takes away that whole retro look that I love about 05! I guess I will get the vert when and if they come with the hardtop vert option!

Peace

The headrests make it look funny with the top down.

There is no boot on the convertible in the picture. That's the front of the convertible roof that you're seeing in the pictures. Looks like it folds differently from the Fox platform for sure.

I'd be interested in a removable hardtop option for sure. The soft top is nice but it's a pita during the winter due to lack of insulation and eventual sealing problems. Both problems I have with the 89 GT I have now. Righ now I'm in the process of designing a two piece hard top for it.
