o/r H and Check engine light.Very big important question

Okay , as u all know i'm in the Gulf area(Navy). My car was purchased here 04 GT manual.SO as SCT told me ,that all Mustangs that were shipped overseas have their "O2 sensors" shut off.I saw the O2 sensors when i looked underneath the car.But even FORD here told me that , they are connected but "shut off".
The thing is, i'm ordering an o/r H pipe. So when i instal it will i get the "Check engine light". i mean if my O2 senrors are Shut off like they say. Replacing the stock H with an o/r H pipe wont make a difference , right?


Does anyone know anything about this.

Your rear o2 sensors are shut off, your front ones should still be operating. Which doesn't matter because like you said, if the rears are already shut off putting the O/R H-pipe will not trip your SES light.

this is the Mail i got :
I found out that the engine code needed for that application would end up being RKN2. We will have to disable the rear o2 sensors and EGR to have this work correctly, but I have been told by SCT that this is the case since there is no rear o2s and EGR in the overseas vehicles. Let me know what else you want on the tuner and what mods you have done and we can get that ordered for you.

Exhaust Gas Recirculation. Another emissions control feature.

It sounds like your car's program (software) does not do the rear o2 sensor test already. Relax. Go for the o/r pipe. In the remote case that the light does come on, it won't hurt much. Just order a set of MIL Eliminators and plug them in. Not a big deal to do.

i'm getting the Xcal2 , so that should take care of it.IF the light comes on which most likely wouldnt if the rear o2's are off as per SCT

just slap the o/r hpipe on there. if the SES light turns onat some point, just get some MILs. its really not that big of a deal.

i also got that stupid issue with overseas cars lol so i really know how you feel
where are you located in the "Gulf area" Newbie143 ??
