I am looking to add more authoritative and just plain crazy sound to my exhaust. With my Flows, the rumble isn't as loud and deep as I would like it to be at idle. Basically, I want it to sound deep, throaty and loud...

My MAC Flowpaths sound deep throaty and load but If you cant decide between an X or H, I think (my opinion) that the X has more of a "raspy" tone and H has more of a "deep" tone.

prochamber will make it louder and A LOT deeper but not as loud as all the others, havent had any personal experience w/ an x-pipe but a buddy of mine had a mac o/r h-pipe with 2 chamber flows and he could set off car alarms pretty easy. its more personal taste than anything, go to mustangexhaust.com if you havent already and see what you like, good luck

As spikeGT_99 said, http://www.mustangexhaust.com/4.6sounds.htm is a great site. The link is straight to the 4.6 sounds page, but there is a whole forum devoted to the mustang exhaust note

A classic sound would be a H pipe with Flows, simple as that. That'll give you a nice rumbling tone at lower RPMs and when decelerating and an "OMG, take you damn foot off the loud pedal!" sound when cranked up. Trust me, you'll love this setup.

I dig my prochamber and flows combination. Very deep and loud without being obnoxious, but if I had to do it over again, I'd go with an x-pipe and straight through mufflers like dynomax or magnaflow. My set up was great N/A, but now that I'm blown, I think it may be a little restrictive.

Mustangexhaust is very, very good, but there's no substitute for listening to a particular set up in person. I recently heard a UPR x-pipe with magnapacks and it sounded great. I've also heard a bassani x with the new flows and it sounds awsome as well...neither sounded raspy at all. Good luck.

All of the choices sound great, Im personally not a magnaflow kinda person. I like my mustangs sounding just like everyone and their mother, flows and either a prochamber or an off road H pipe. In my case, I chose the prochamber. Good luck

Here is a exhaust sound clip of my 2000 GT. Only mods are some 2 1/2" Race SpinTech mufflers and some 3 1/2" roller chrome tips. It sounds loud without the popping. I was amazed how good it sound with the stock h-pipe w/ the stock cats. I even used the 2 1/4" flow tubes & tailpipes. 2000 GT

I had a MAC O/R H pipe but the fittment and overall quality of the unit was piss-poor. I did buy it used, however. I'm torn between a Pro Chamber, and a Bassani X. Those seem to be the two highest-quality units out there... I love the Pro Chamber sound, but I'm leery of if it has the same fitment issues the O/R H did.

best mid pipe/flowmaster combo I have ever heard

prochamber sounds good with flows too, but it will be quieter than the X or H
