Before anyone says "check the vacuum hose that runs across the firewall", I have. That was the first thing I checked. The situation is this, I turn the control knob to floor, vent, mix and all is rose petals and love. I turn it to vent or AC and it does come out, but weakly. Most of it is diverted to the floor. I'd hate to tear the dash out for this. Any ideas?

TIA

Remove the vacuum and see if it defaults to defrost only.

I think the door that changes the air flow from floor to vents may be stuck. Anyone know of a way to get to this to try to break it loose?

We don't have to worry about the a/c issue anymore. I went around a blind curve this morning at 4:30 and ran into a wall of water. The car stalled and the water rose, carrying me 30 yards into deeper water. The end came when a semi came through pushing a wave of water that almost went over the top of the car. Never thought it would happen to me. I see this on TV and think "What a bunch of idiots". Now I'm one of them

Sorry to hear that man. That's ridiculous. No one ever expects it to happen to them. My brother lived in Fort Myers, Florida. One day in a storm he ran into deep water and struck a rock with his oil pan. His car was submerged up to his door handle. Two months later he was back driving his mustang again.

Thanks. Went and looked at the car today before it gets towed to the inspection lot. Looks okay, but there's condensation on everything inside and it STINKS! I sent them photos and receipts, so we'll see what they come up with. USAA is supposed to be good about this type of thing.

Hopefully they won't total it out or maybe you can buy it back. My brother did have to put a motor in his car....he had the carpet taken out and cleaned. It runs great now and doesn't smell funny. None of the electronics were damaged.
