I have an 88 gt, mass air converted. Its got equeal length shorties, off road h-pipe and flowmaster 2 chambers, I also have a trick flow track heat upper and lower, 65 mm throttle body, 14* timing, adj fp reg, set at 40 pounds. It seems like when i get on it after lets say a stoo lite, once i get up to speed i get an odd smell from the exhaust. I know the valve seals are going in the heads, (if i ride a gear down i see the burnt oil). But this smell has been around for a while. It doesnt smell like burnt oil, coolant or anything like that. I know im kinda throwing this one out there but any ideas would be great. It does get anoyying when i am driving with the windows open. Thanks again, Nick

Does it smell like sulfer? I had a really bad smell for a long time, to find out, it was the battery going bad. I thought I had a dead animal somewhere I couldn't find it. I found out when the battery started leaking and dying at the track. Had to stop every 5-10 minutes to recharge on someone else's car, while not using headlights the whole way.

Is it just the smell from the catless hpipe? When you get on it, its running pretty rich, so its gonna smell. What does it smell like?

Clutch possibly???, If you get on it and the clutch is slipping you might not feel it right away but it will still smell. But if has been around a long time then you would probably feel it about now..
