Hey guys this is my first post and question. Please no nonsense answers.
I put a clutch in my 93 mustang and obviously unhooked the Speedo. I just noticed that before the work I had about 112k miles on it and now it’s reading 132k. How would that have happened???

I will guess that you have a stripped or boogered gear tooth on that second digit.

speedo gear won’t have anything to do with it.

Odometer is geared to the cable so each rotation turns it only a tiny bit. Your cable would have had to spin and warp 9 to make it jump 20k miles

You’d have to disassemble the cluster and look here. These gears are all interconnected but the white teeth. Assuming nothing is damaged, these numbers don’t spin
