Not sure why, I blame it on a slight mental illness I have but I've been obsessing about my engine bay. Not making some fancy sweet smoothed bay with hidden wiring, etc... NO, I'm going on about making it look "factory fresh" (ish).

The last few items are the bunch of labels I'm recreating (rocker cover, wire harness and battery specifically). I'm test fitting the sizes right now with a paper print.I scanned the original labels (saved them when cleaning up the wiring and such).

rocker cover label

harness label tests

detailed the front clip brackets with zinc plated factory screws

I have the Ford coolant hoses coming and I'm ordering the factory style wire clamps and such... the engine bay should be real close to factory stock with some improvements.

I like it man. It's cool to see people taking it to that level. A factory fresh looking 5.0 is something that is highly sought after. Some stickers are available but I commend you for making them yourself. [emoji469]

Ditch the cai and go with a factory airbox.

Honestly, I'm one of the crazies smoothing everything, but I really like the look of a fresh stock engine bay. Nice job.

+1 to the factory air box.

I put mine back in a while ago and eBay the aftermarket one.

I still have my silencer, but I'll leave that off

Is your engine stock? That would be the determining factor for me to go back to the factory airbox or not. If you have a slightly restricted (intake) 347 under there, I would probably leave the CAI.

Typhoon intake, shorty headers, and stock Tb? Highly doubt it's hiding a 347 in there.

Yup it is pretty much stock. Heads from a lightning (GT40 and ported, SS valves, etc), 1.6 rockers, B303 lol, typhoon (ported) 76mm TB and MAF, 24# injectors, BBK long tubes, 255lph pump, I may put aluminium heads on during the winter. Should be going on the dyno for fun later this summer.

I was trying to put the stock airbox back on but this was a SD car so I didn't have the right tubes in stock. The cai is a cheap chinese thing that used to be polished. I painted it black for more stockish look.

Only issue I have is I think I need to get the MAF recalibrated if I put a stock airbox in?

I couldn't find repo labels for the wiring harnesses or the rocker covers for my year? Have you seen any? Would be cool as I don't think I can get my hands on a thermal transfer or whatever process they used. OE's material is not easy for me to reproduce.

I guess the other option is the open filter element? I will try and source an 89+ air tube to check out the stock setup. Which I would prefer to be honest.

Have only seen the repo labels for the doors, core support, fan, and coil cover. No rocker cover or harness labels that I know of.

Your idea is bad#$5. So they printed like a receipt ....interesting.

What I was thinking for the rocker cover label (I could be wrong though but the printing was not centre with the die cut). I'm also assuming they had rolls of part number "tape" on the production line for the harnesses.

I was told I could buy a Ford battery but the Napa battery I have now is new so I don't mind being a ricer and applying a Ford sticker lol

Man! That air box does wonders for the OE look.

Looking sweet brother, nice work.
