OEM or Aftermarket Clutch?

ive never heard of either of those companies, and id say if your not gonna be racing or driving hard at all then stock OEM is your best bet.

96 V6 - I got the whole assembley for $155. from Advance Auto lifetime guarantee long as I own the 'Stang, but far as I know it wasn't heavy duty. Wouldn't be that bad of a job but the Y exaust pipe has to come off. I let a tranny place do it and think total was $275. parts and labor. Been in 2K miles now and no problem. Mechanic said Advance Auto clutches all they ever used high performance trucks and cars and never had one come back.

I checked a few places and some said the flywheel had to come off and sent to machine shop to true-up flat, extra $100. My tranny mech said not true unless clutch metal has made contact with the flywheel cutting groves in it. OUCH! He used a buffer and cleaned the flywheel, put it back together, clutch works nice and smooth. I'm a senior citizen and not a hot rod, but I do cog it now and then and it will burn rubber in first and second. Go grand-paw go!

I bought it with 115K miles on it, former owner since new a middle age lady and she was easy on it. I saw the old clutch and the release bearing was completely gone but still some cluth material left. From what I saw and knowing how she drove it I'd say replace it at or before 90K miles just to be on the safe side. Way you adjust the clutch is lift on the brake pedal but tranny guy said do not do that, it wil adjust itself.
