I'm restoring my 87 mustang lx to it's original form and decided to pull the aftermarket stereo and replace it with an original one. I found and purchased one off of ebay along with the AMP. Now the problem I'm having is finding where the AMP hooked up originally. I can't find the two connectors to plug in the AMP.

Does anyone know where the AMP that came with the premium sound system is located or was located on their car?

Thanks,
Tony

Under the seat. I think the passenger seat. That was a 93 that my friend had.

i believe in mine it was located where the center speaker in the dash would go. there was no speaker there and an amp instead. I could be wrong but i believe that is the location on most of the earlier foxes.

My '89 had an amp directly behind the radio mounted on the tunnel.

Good Luck!

on an 87 it would be mounted right behind the radio on the floor. Are you sure the car had the premium sound to begin with?

The connectors that you plugged your aftermarket stereo into will plug into the amp. Then there is a jumper harness that goes from the amp to the stereo.

On an 87, it should be behind the radio, as stated above. Regarding the 93 amp under the pass seat mentioned above, this is also correct. It was only done in 93.

Yup. My 93 is under the seat but all my others have been behind the radio. Except my 86 which is up where a center speaker would be.
