Off to do the balljoints... Any tips?

To answer the first part of you question, borrow/rent/buy the right tools for the job

Ball joint press kit $19.99 Note: If you decide to buy that kit, you will have to print that internet price or they will charge you $39.99 for the kit at the store.

This should be available from Harbor Freight as well. I paid under $10.00 for mine.
I'm just not a fan of using a BF hammer when the right tools are so cheap. Do not remove the nut completely, that way when you use the pitman are seperator the suspension doesn't fly apart.

Well, I decided to hold off until tommorow. I think I am gonna change the springs at the same time. I just can't get them until Monday.

--What are the odds I will be able to get a decent alignment using FMS-B springs on an otherwise stock suspension?

Thank you DMAN, I had seen that site years ago and forgotten about it.

Somthing I found useful, when you are putting on your new rubber boot around the ball joint, make sure you pick up a piece of 2" round exhaust pipe, I found an adaptor for $1-$2 at the local hardware/autoparts store that did the trick. Place this pipe around the rubber boot and it will allow you to use a mallet to carefully put the boot on. This ensures that it goes on evenly and you won't rip the boot in the process.
