Will you have wheels to roll on if you get rid of these?

Nope, lol, meh... then the next logical question would be, how many miles on the tires.

Rears are shot due to racing and the fronts have like 30,000 if that.If you look at the pics I posted you can see what is left for tread on the tires.

Ah, so the tires are pretty much a throw away item at this point. I see why you don't want to keep them, you'd have to get rid of them Brand new from American Muscle these go for about 715.96 with free shipping and no tax. I don't want lo-ball you, it just isn't my way. But I do really like those wheels and have been eyeballing them for quite sometime on american muscle. So, if you want to throw out a number, I can work from there.

Thanks.

Fronts are actually still good. I will take $600 if you want them.

I think you may just have yourself a deal my friend. I guess I am lastly curious about the condition of the wheels. Any damage, curb rash, stuff like that?

There is one small rash/ding on the right rear wheel lip close to the tire which is hardly noticeable other than that they are in very good condition

Once all said and done it will be a complete Saleen clone right down to the dash and engine compartment plackards which are the only 2 things I have left to purchase other then the body kit of course.

Just wondering, if you want a saleen so bad, Instead of trying to copy why don't you just buy one. You can get a pertty sweet one in that year for what you are putting into your car. Then you could AUCTALLY say you have one.

Actually it is not as expensive as you think it is to make a clone. The most expensive part is the body kit ($1,300). Everything else is decals and badges and I have spent less than $350 for them ( that includes the just purchased vin tag too). If I could have bought a 1997 Saleen convertible for $4500 more than what I paid for my car there would have been some serious problems with it.

As far as suspension, pulleys and wheels what Mustang guy out there doesn't spend the money for that. To try and find one of the 196 actual Saleen Convertibles built in 1997 in the same condition as mine would cost me a heck of alot more than the $13,000 total (which includes the cost of the yet unpurchased body kit and racecraft suspension) that I have into my car.

Alot of the reason people make clones is simply the joy of it. Why don't people ask the guys who make '67 fastback Elenoar clones why did they spend all that money for a clone??? Sometimes it is just too expensive to own the real thing so make your own. Sure some day I may own a real 1997 Saleen convertible but until then I am enjoying my little project in constant movement towards my Saleen dream.

Decided to add more info here. I searched the interent for a original 1997 Saleen convertible and found for sale #17B which is an old Budget Rental car in Europe. They are asking 29,500 Euro's which translates into us currency $39,642.10. 1997 Saleen Sportster #17B. So to say that I can buy one for the same amount of money as it is to make a clone is obviously a very un-researched statement to make.

Now why don't you be a little more realistic. That is a Budget car which there is not many of so of corse they are high priced, so is a s-351. Here I will help you out, because you seem to have problems finding them. I'm pretty sure you are in the Seattle area so I Found some cars in that area for under 14,000 one even being your color.
