Well, now I'm starting to lean back to the FR500 setup.

If I get leather I'm looking at $700-$1000 per seat plus brackets. Wife says fabric fronts with leather rear would "look tacky".

The FR500 is $1495 and covers front AND rear in matching leather while keeping my power adjustments (I'm 5' 8" and don't have legroom issues).

I need to see if I can arrange to meet TacBear and see his.

Honestly they should be called FR500 Seat covers. All they do is cover the stock seats with leather. Well to eachtheir own. I did my seats for weight savings.

As I understand it they replace the foam too changing the design of the seat entirely. Only your frame is reused.

I just found out you can by new 2004 Cobra seats if you want:

$2250 each!

I don't know why everyone likes the '03 Cobra seats. I HATE them. The passenger seat is alright, but in the driver seat even with the side bolsters all the way out, it is very restrictive and uncomfortable for me. Not to mention I bet they are some of the heaviest seats out there.

To me, the Cobra seats are a perfect fit. I love them. That being said, I respect your differing opinion.

My local dealer quoted $699 per seat. That doesn't include mounts.

does anybody have any aftermarket seats that don't look more like they belong in an autocrosser than a daily driver?

not that there is anything wrong with a racy looking seat...I'm just looking for something a little less 'extreme'...

I posted this link above. I think they at least look more comfy and they have more bolstering without the "racy" look. I also don't think they would clash too bad with your back seat if you have the dark charcoal interior.

I couldn't stand the stock GT seats, so I replaced them with these Recaros. I have to say it's a night and day difference, from pure crap to near perfection. They were a bit pricey, I'd do it again in an instant.

These are the "Style" model from Recaro, in Black Artista cloth with black accents. They have adjustable headrests, side bolsters, and leg bolsters. Mine are mounted on manual sliders for a bit of extra headroom, but they also have adapters for the electric adjuster if you want to keep that for some reason.

I noticed recently that Ford used the same model of Recaro in grey leather on their v10 Boss 351 demonstrator car.

Here's a couple of pictures from my car I've posted here before:

Did you get the "comfort package" on the driver's side? Also, do you have any insight in how they fit/finish/feel. Finally, do you have more (or could you take more) pictures you could email me? I'd like to get more info before dropping some serious coin...

Thanks in advance,

Norm

p.s.
If you didn't get the comfort package, does your seat still have manual adjustments for height and tilt?
