I am doing a similar swap pretty soon myself. Except I will be putting 2v heads on the Mach1 shortblock.

i DD this setup, with the eddy intake and longtubes, alum flywheel and 4.10's, enormous plenum, LS1 tb, and ect..

its fun as hell!! when you run across a newer 99-01 cobra or bolt on ls1, and you leave them with the WTF!! factor lol If you have any questions pm me to get the complete parts list you need..
