oil breather tube?

on my 88 302, there the breather tube that goes from the oil fille rneck to the throttle body. i was told this was just used for emmissions, would it hurt if i tool it off and plugged te wholes. and if i do so should i get a oil breather cap?

yes it is an emmissions part and aids the pcv system in keeping the crank case ventilated. You could remove it and cap the two holes but if you do you should get a breather cap for the valve cover.

ya, i figured it was for ventalation, it was the breath cap i was wondering about more....thanx
