Oil Burning??

Ok after a recent h/c/i install my car burns oil alot worse thand it did b4 i did this. i put 50wt oil in there and it burns through 1 qt in about a 1-2days. i have no leaks and i belive this is to much oil being burnt for it to be a piston ring. Anyone have any ideas, My dad and I think its sucking it up into the intake b/c of lower vac pressure. any ideas would help alot

are these new heads, if not the valve guides might be worn and are letting oil drip into the combustion chamber. Did you install the baffle on the underside of the edelbrock intake? (they don't come installed from edelbrock you have to install them yourself) if not your pops could be right and your sucking oil up through there but not because of vaccum pressure. try doing a compression/leak down test on every cylinder, engine maybe worn or rings might be gone. Good luck

Was the car burning oil before the Swap? If not and the heads are new I would say your dad is right, and you are sucking oil through the intake, where the intake and head meet.

the car was burning oil b4 but we thought the valve stems seals were bad on my old heads.. the baffle thingy is on there we had to tear it apart and put that on there about a week ago.. but isnt it burning to much oil for ti to be a piston ring??

Check your PCV valve.. make sure the baffle plate was installed on the underside of the intake... aftermarket intakes are bad about consuming oil through the PCV valve. Install a breather filter over the oil fill tube.

Make sure that baffle plate is under the PCV valve.. there should be a wire mesh below the pcv valve wich can be removed to make sure that the plate was installed.. if it wasnt it will burn oil like crazy. The breather will just help vent off some crank case pressure but cant hurt to go ahead and do.

the plates there cause we had to go back and put it on there we forgot to put it on there the first time. so its there i just hope its not a piston ring cause i spent all that money for the tope end and dont have any left over for the bottom.

My old setup had a performer intake and I also forgot to install the baffle plate lol. Does your car leak any oil at all on the ground? Did you yank your plugs and see if they are oily? Do you have a reason to believe its a ring issue? They normally just dont happen for no reason. Also were the heads new or used? If they were used it could be bad valve guides.. tons of options to explore.
